Privacy Policy

This page is our plain-English summary. The formal Privacy Policy is the governing document — if anything here differs, the formal policy applies.

Who we are. Korena is an Australian K-beauty-inspired skincare brand, run by its two founders and based in Melbourne, Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Korena. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can reach us any time at hi@korena.com.au.

The information we collect. We collect only what we need to run the store and answer you:

• Order & contact details, your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone (if given), and what you ordered.
• Payment details, card or payment information is collected and processed by our payment provider through Shopify. We never see or store your full card number.
• Messages you send us, anything in your emails or contact-form messages.
• Marketing opt-ins, your email address, only if you choose to join our list.
• Automatically, when you browse, our platform and analytics tools collect standard technical data (IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and cookie identifiers).

How we use your information. To process, fulfil, and ship your order; to take payment and prevent fraud; to provide support and answer your emails; to send the occasional restock or update note only if you've opted in; and to keep the store secure and improve it. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with. Only the service providers we need to run Korena: Shopify (our platform, which hosts the store and processes orders and payments), shipping carriers (to deliver your order), and email & analytics providers. We may also disclose information where required by law. We do not sell or rent your data.

Overseas storage and disclosure. Some providers, including Shopify, store and process data on servers outside Australia (for example the United States, Canada, or the European Union). By using the store you consent to this overseas handling. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information consistently with the APPs.

Cookies. Our store uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember preferences, and measure usage. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Marketing and opt-out. Joining our email list is optional. You can unsubscribe any time via the link in any marketing email, or by emailing us.

Keeping your information secure. We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we take it seriously.

How long we keep it. Only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required for tax, accounting, and legal obligations, then we delete or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information. You can ask us to show, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email hi@korena.com.au and a founder will action it. We may need to verify your identity first.

Children. Korena is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Complaints. Email us first, we'll look into it and reply, usually within a few days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time; the current version always lives on this page.
